lets start thinking about animation shall we

first things first lets have a look a the deconstructed character so we can better understand how its shes meant to move. the shape make up and puppet structure are necessary to properly understand the movement and weight of the individual segments, this gives animators all the required data to bring characters to life, in this case im having to do everything so it serves as an excellent reminder during the many hundreds of frames it takes to make an drawing move with consistent enough proportions to stay realistic and believable

using the skeleton frame its a hell of a lot easier to plan movement and just skin it later, this is the first animation plan i did, a simple walk, frame by frame. although it only adds up to about a second of animation it can be looped to extend the distance and re-used to extend the time and distance of the character. 9 frames for 3 steps, really gives you a respect for just how much time goes into animation
